Some #GoodNewsRetail from Last Week

This is a non-exhaustive list of some positive retail developments I caught over the past week, as I tweeted. Please share yours on Twitter using #GoodNewsRetail.

  • RT @laurenthomas The Texas-HQ home-goods retailer At Home has 219 stores and its CEO joined CNBC today to say the company could grow to more than 600 locations, as its sales soar during the pandemic. $HOME shares up >120% ytd. There's one retailer still in growth mode. (article)

  • Between [new Burberry “digital, physical store” in China] + new Nike in Paris & more, I’m dying to get back on planes to Europe, Asia. (WWD, sub. req.)

  • Walmart rolls out new 'Ask Sam' tool to store employees to help shoppers find products, prices, report emergencies (article)

  • Just learned via @CommerceNext that @madisonreedllb has been hosting weekly color parties via Zoom, where customers share tips. Community-building at its best.

  • Canada Goose footwear & accessories. So logical a category extension for them that I can actually picture the designs. (article)

  • “The impact of COVID-19 has fast-tracked the need for a reimagined guest experience in store." @century21stores testing new programs - in-store live stream, private shopping events. CX is an increasing focus in discount, too. (article)

  • Aerie as a brand seems to have a million ways to reach. They always look well-executed for their customer. And this one (athleisure) is particularly relevant now. (WWD, sub. req.)

  • Wish it could’ve happened sooner but 👏👏 Westfield for taking the mall outside. (WWD, sub. req.)
